-
Perform all exercises in a controlled manner – move through the full range of motion slowly and with purpose. Avoid jerking, swinging, or suddenly letting go of weights. Always return them to the starting position in a controlled manner.
-
Return weights gently – never drop dumbbells or let machines snap back. If you’re struggling to control the weight, consider reducing the load or asking for a spot.
-
Rack your weights – always return dumbbells, barbells, and plates to their proper place after use. This keeps the gym tidy and safe for everyone.
-
Respect others’ space – avoid standing too close to someone while they’re training, and allow people to finish their set before approaching or using equipment.
-
Wipe down equipment after use – use the cleaning stations provided to keep benches, mats, and handles clean and sweat-free.
-
Be aware of staffed hours – our team is available at specific times to help you. You can view staffed hours by visiting our website homepage.
-
Need help? Just ask! – If you’re unsure how to use a machine or do a specific exercise, speak to a team member during staffed hours or send us an email. We’re here to help you succeed.
-
Emergency equipment is available 24/7 – you’ll find a first aid kit, emergency phone, and defibrillator on the ground floor, just before the stairs.
-
Stay hydrated and listen to your body – bring a water bottle or use the water machine available at the café. Rest when needed and don’t push through pain or dizziness.
-
If you injure yourself, stop training immediately – assess the situation and use the emergency phone or first aid supplies if needed. In an unstaffed gym environment, you’re expected to use reasonable judgment and take responsibility for your own safety in line with UK health and safety guidance. Always train within your limits, avoid risky behaviour, and if in doubt — don’t push through. We’re here to help during staffed hours or via email anytime.
