The Squat: King of the Lifts (and Judge of Character)
The squat is a great exercise for building muscle, gaining strength, and improving athletic performance. I’ve yet to meet anyone with a genuinely good squat (done correctly and with a decent weight) who hasn’t put in serious work. It doesn’t demand superhuman coordination or mobility, but it won’t come naturally either. Most mistakes are set in motion before the bar even moves, which is why the set-up and your positioning are so important.

Training the Squat
I have included several drills to help master the technique. However, even if you have perfect form you can still train the movement badly. Work on the lift, follow my three golden rules and make the squat one of the best exercises you could invest your time in.
